Government loan: Can you really get free money?
Beware of people who tell you they can easily get 1000’s of dollars in government loans and grants. Believe me, the government is not generally in the practice of handing out money for free.
This does not mean that it is impossible. If you want a grant, it helps if you’re politically connected or have some influence in government. But if you’re not “connected”, you’ll probably have to go through the normal channels like everyone else.
Now a government loan, on the other hand, is a little easier, depending on who you go through.
If you are looking for a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan, there are a number of government loan services that will submit your SBA loan application to several financial institutions simultaneously, which greatly increases your chances of getting your loan approved and funded.
The benefits of an SBA loan versus a loan from a conventional bank is that the terms can be longer and the loan amounts larger.
Under it’s Congressional mandate, the SBA assists small businesses through a number of programs and efforts.
