How does a credit card company ensure secure credit card transactions
Secure credit card transactions companies offer a gateway for credit card issuing web sites to accept electronic payments from their customers. Through that companies’ secure server and the electronic encryption system you are provided with secure credit card transactions.
When you order online, you provide your credit card information; because of this consumers are worried about Internet fraud. That’s why websites have to ensure they have a system to authorize secure credit card transactions.
Recently MasterCard has begun to use a system called SET Secure Electronic Transaction. It keeps your order and payment information confidential. Increased integrity is ensured through encryption of all transmitted data. Authentication that a cardholder is a legitimate user of a card account, and that a merchant is reliable and can accept that payment from that account ensures secure credit card transactions. Shopping online is becoming more and more responsible.
