There was one fast credit card application offer from a credit company that offered a Gold Card with a $15,000 limit and a 0% annual percentage rate (APR) the first year. All you had to do was send in $37 and a signed acceptance certificate.
The Better Business Bureaus was contacted and the BBB said that this credit company had an unsatisfactory business performance record. The company had a pattern of complaints alleging misrepresentation of fast credit card application and loan offers. Complainants alleged they were led to believe by sending required advance fees to the company, they would receive a major credit card or loan. Instead, complainants received a solicitation asking for more money for what the company described as a Gold Merchant Card. This is not a Visa or MasterCard, and it can only be used to order products from the company's catalogue.
Remember, even if a company is registered, it is unlawful to collect payments in advance of performing services.
So to ensure you don't get burned by false fast credit card application offers, check with the Better Business Bureau first.
