Credit Card Processing – Who will get your business?
Credit card processing is big business! Credit card sales have reached astonishing levels since the convenient little plastic card was first introduced in the 1950’s. When you make a purchase, the credit card processing is complete and purchase amount is debited from your credit card account to and the vendor is paid for your purchase.
Depending on the financial institution issuing the card, approval terms and policies change. The first thing that is considered when Credit card processing takes place is your employment status and credit bureau report. Credit reporting agencies will help the Card Company assess their risk in issuing a card to you.
Many card-issuing companies will maintain extensive web sites to offer information about their credit card choices and terms of use. They are able to field many customer service inquiries this way and get important information out to the cardholder. Applications are on the web site and easy to fill out. Make sure all spaces are complete or it will delay your application. Credit card processing will take about 2 to 3 weeks before you get the card in your hands.
Federal law prohibits issuers from randomly sending you a card you didn’t ask for but they are permitted to send you renewal cards without your request. If they call you and get an OK by phone, they are also allowed to send you a card, subject to credit approval. After the credit card processing is complete, you are ready to go shopping.
