Do you have a bad credit report?
If you have a bad credit report there are ways to improve your credit, so do not despair. According to consumer reports magazine, 48% of consumers have errors in their credit report files, and 12% of those errors are severe enough to result in credit denial. Many families have been faced with a recent financial hardship that has left their credit in shambles. Even though the actual crisis may only last a few months, the credit fallout can last for 7 to 10 years. That is if you do nothing to better your situation regarding your bad credit report.
Regardless of who's to blame, whether it's your fault or theirs, YOU can do something about your bad credit report. Your credit report could contain information that is outdated, misleading or incorrect and can cost you thousands of dollars in interest overcharges or deny you the credit you deserve and need. There are dozens of credit repair sites on-line, be very aware if they want money up front. Your best option is to improve your credit yourself; you may want to get a do-it-yourself credit repair book on-line to help you.
Off the top of my head I can think 3 things that you can do to help your credit. One, get a secured Visa or MasterCard for $500 - $1000, and make sure to keep it up to date. Two, get a small loan for an RRSP and pay it back on-time, and third,a chequing account and hold a balance of $500. There are steps you can take to repair your bad credit report.
