Considering credit counselling?
Credit counselling organizations offer credit repair services at little or no cost. This is because credit counselling organizations are not for profit and are usually funded by creditors, government grants and voluntary support from their member agencies.
If you do a search for “credit counselling” on the Internet you’ll find a lot of information about counselling services as well as credit repair companies, and do-it-yourself resources. Information only sites, that offer free resources, will often recommend that the debtor consider against non-profit counselling organizations. Since these organizations are often set-up by creditors it is suspected they may discourage direct client-creditor communication, and inconspicuously slow-down the client’s degree of repayment, in turn increasing their interest charges.
So be thorough in your search and find a counselling organization that will make sure your participating fully in the whole process and are completely aware of what is being done on your behalf. After all, many credit counselling agencies have shown themselves to be objective negotiators between the client and creditor; their professionals keep everything confidential and explore all the possible options.
