Visa Debit Card: It's not a credit card, it's better
Hey, have you heard about the newest card, which is like a debit card, but is different. It's called the Visa debit card.
With kids that go to university, sometime parents are very worried about giving their kids a credit card and then watching the kid go on a crazy spending spree. As you know, this can be overcome by providing your child with a debit card. With a debit card, every purchase is debited from their bank account. Once their account is empty of money, no more purchases are allowed. This controls the spending to the amount of money which is in the account.
The new Visa debit card allows you to "see" exactly what your child is spending their money on. The Visa debit card is attached to a bank account that PocketCard sets up. You can deposit money into that account for your child by phone or by the internet directly from your own bank account. And just like a debit card, when the account runs out of money, your child's debit card is rejected at the cash register.
PocketCard sends you the statements, not your child. You can also see the statements on the internet, or have them e-mail it to you.
Using the Visa debit card, your child is happy because they get to spend your money, and your happy, because you get to see what they spend it on.
