Lost Credit Cards - How To Report A Stolen Or Lost Credit Card
If you need to report a lost credit card, don't also lose your cool. Same goes for stolen credit cards. There are laws and bank policies in place that limit your liability for unauthorized charges made on lost or stolen credit cards. Just be sure that you quickly notify the bank or card issuer about the stolen or lost credit card.
Read the following so you'll know what you need to do and what your liabilities are for any stolen or lost credit cards.
Reporting Stolen or Lost Credit Cards
If you have a credit card stolen or you realize you've lost a credit card, it's an inconvenience, but you probably won't be out much money. That's because a federal law limits your liability for unauthorized charges made with a stolen credit card to $50. Most credit card issuers waive even that charge.
Perhaps you should consider replacing your lost credit card with a card that offers better protection.
Here's to your credit!
