Get a college credit card without the worries
On many campus’ you will find college credit card applications. Since most students have major tuition debt and little income, why would a credit card company take the risk? The truth is – they wouldn’t. The college credit card they offer is a student credit card, which is secured.
If you go online, you will find lots of offers for college credit cards. Some have special names like the Visa Buxx, which is set up by parents. The Visa Buxx is an ingenious little card that is designed for teenagers age 13 and up. The purpose of the card is to introduce budgeting and practical money skills for young people. The Visa Buxx is like a secure credit card and can be used wherever Visa is accepted.
Other college credit cards are set up and maintained by the student. A secured credit card simply means that a security deposit account is set up and used to secure your credit card. It acts much the same way as a debit card in that the amount is guaranteed. You can only purchase the amount equal to what is in your deposit account. The amount in your deposit account will determine your credit limit. The advantage to having this type of college credit card is that you don’t go into debt – you are only spending what you have to spend. It is a great way to manage your debt and improve your credit rating at the same time.
